# User Inputs

## Model Documentation

## User Inputs

The model lets you enter a number of historical and forward-looking inputs. Tabs labeled in green contain inputs cells (in green) for you to change:

To use the Add-On functionality to project revenue and headcount, go to the Add-ons dropdown in the Google Sheet and then FlowCog > Generate Customers and Staff. Some other user input notes:

- Fill out the tabs in the order they appear (left to right).
- If an input is not applicable or you want to zero it out, enter 0 and don’t leave it blank.
- The “Small, Medium, Large, and Mega” categories refer to deal size thresholds for customers (these threshold inputs are on the “Funnel: Bottom” tab). Note that you can choose to have some variability within each of these deal size buckets.
- More granular detail for intermediate steps/calculations based on inputs can be found on the Workpaper tabs (you can unhide them in the Google Sheets).
- If there’s a separate line item you need to account for (either on the P&L or Balance Sheet) that isn’t captured anywhere else in the model, you can use:
  - the “Other Assets” or “Other Liabilities” row on the “Balance Sheet Calcs” tab (and update it each month).
  - the “Other Non-Recurring Revenue” row on the “Revenue” tab (and update it each month).

## Input tabs and their impact on projections

See **[this page](https://flowcog.com/model-info/inputs-impact)** for how each input tab affects projections.

## Historical Data

To have comparative financial statements, exports from your accounting system are required (for a full calendar year before the most recent month of available financial results). The model also needs this data to understand your company’s trends to inform future projections.

## Plugging for exact future outputs

If you want to plug in exact amounts as the future output of the model, change the most recent actuals month (the input on the “Update Checklist” tab) to the future month of your choice and then enter the outputs on the Income Statement Import and Balance Sheet Import tabs. Note that this would require a full monthly update process, see instructions on the “Update Checklist” and “Actuals” tabs.
