# Caveats and Good to Know

## Model Documentation

## Caveats

- The model will warn you if you (intentionally or accidentally) edit a cell that’s not in green or has a formula. There’s no need to edit any formulas or header dates (they update automatically).
- Don’t delete any cells (it’s ok to change the contents of the green input cells), since the model makes extensive use of named ranges.
- New custom tabs you add will not affect the functionality of the model, but they may not function correctly upon upgrading to future model versions.
- Don’t filter or freeze rows on any of the purple tabs (tabs used by Scripts). These prevent scripts from running properly.
- Given correct inputs, this model will produce accurate results for most companies. However, the specific facts and circumstances of each company may cause results presented to be inaccurate.

## Good to Know

- Many cells have a note with more info that appears when you hover over it (it’s a black triangle).
- The model also has orange Workpaper tabs for calculation explanations and month by month detail. You can unhide/hide these from the Add-On menu:
  - P&L Allocations
  - Funnel
  - Revenue
  - MQL & SQL
  - Balance Sheet Calcs
  - Capital
  - Expenses
  - Payroll Calcs
  - Setup Phase
  - Fixed Assets
  - Deferred Taxes
- New custom tabs you add will not affect the functionality of the model, but they may not function correctly upon upgrading to future model versions.
- For any Add-On scripts that run, you can always Undo (or if you’ve refreshed the page since running it, you can [restore the Google Sheet to a previous version](https://support.google.com/docs/answer/190843)).
- It’s always better to clear the contents of a cell rather than to delete the cell from the spreadsheet (if a cell is deleted entirely, other formulas that rely on that cell may break).
- The Generate Customers and Staff script allows for upgrades and downgrades in any month the customer is live.
